Dedication. Determination. These two words best describe Mary. Over the last six months, Mary has really dug deep to change some tough habits. She was able to cut back on one of her favorite food groups—sugar. She increased her protein intake to take her body to a new level of awesome. She has been able to push harder than she had before and it shows! It is an inspiration to watch her accomplish her goals. Mary has added so much to our CorePhysique family!
Tell Us A Bit About Yourself I am 44 years old, married, with an active 9 year old daughter and 7 year old son. I am a pharmacist by training and have been working with the Novartis Oncology US Medical Affairs and Clinical Development field medical team for almost 13 years. I consider myself an outgoing introvert. Although I LOVE to spend quality time with family and close friends, I get my maximum recharge when I am hidden away quietly on my own. I suffered from a bad injury to my neck and shoulder after being struck by a cyclist while running at Fowler Park. After a number of unsuccessful visits with my internist and chiropractor, my husband convinced me to come and see Kolleen for trigger point therapy. Although it was extremely painful, Kolleen got me all fixed up and back in the gym in no time!
What Did You Do Exercise-Wise Before CP? Prior to CorePhysique, I was a member of the YMCA. I took large group classes there as well as did strength training.
What Is Your FAVORITE Exercise/Body Part to Work On? I love to jump rope!
What Is Your HATED Exercise/Body Part to Work On? Grid roll ins… although I have noticed they have gotten easier with time 🙂
What Type of Music Gets Your Heart Rate Up? Really depends on my mood that day but 80s music or today’s top 40 usually gets me pumped up.
Do You Exercise On Your Non-CorePhysique Days? Yes, I have access to on demand Beachbody workouts. I tend to favor the 21 day fix extreme workouts. Quick but very effective 30 minute workouts that I can even get done at the hotel when I am traveling.
What Is Your Favorite Cheat Food(s)? I LOVE all sweets!!!
If You Had A “Me” Day (exercise not necessary), What Would It Look Like? I would put in a hard workout and then curl up with a good book and read all day.
Who Is Your Biggest Supporter? My mom has been my biggest supporter all my life. She picks me up when I am down and raises me higher when I am up!
What Keeps You Coming Back To CorePhysique? My workouts and extended family at CorePhysique are what keep me sane! During those 45 minutes, I am able to shut off (usually ;)) my professional, mom, wife, daughter, sister, life responsibilities and just focus and take care of me!
What Is The Best Thing That Has Changed About Your Life Since Committing To A Healthy Lifestyle? I feel mentally and physically awesome! I have also been able to share my experience and gained knowledge to help others start a healthy lifestyle as well.
