Don’t let her quiet demeanor fool you—Amy is one of the most dedicated, hardest workers at CorePhysique! Amy has been with us since our Bell Memorial Park days. Over the years, we have watched her become stronger and stronger.
Amy has the best smile! She comes in with that smile and no matter how hard the workout, the smile remains. Knowing she is happy to be at CorePhysique just makes the trainers want to give her the best workout possible. Amy, you are awesome and we love your dedication to living a healthy lifestyle!
Tell Us A Bit About Yourself I’m originally from a small town near Pittsburgh, PA. I’ve lived in Atlanta since 1996 when I moved here with a job with the Olympics. I have 2 girls, Isabella (almost 10) and Emma (age 13). I worked in marketing, PR, and special events planning at a few different places including my last job at North Point Community Church, which I left when Isabella was 1. I stay at home now. My girls attend Legacy Community Academy, a hybrid homeschool, so I’m at home schooling them a few days a week. I’ve been married to Tom for almost 19 years now. We met in college in Ohio. He’s originally from Sweden. I can’t remember how I long I’ve been coming to CP! I started at a boot camp when Isabella was 1 year old. I loved that style of workout – the mix of strength and cardio, the varied workouts, the intensity that pushed me to work harder than I thought I could. When that boot camp ended, and CP took over at that location, some of my old boot camp friends (who are now CP clients and trainers too!) encouraged me to join CP. After my schedule balanced out (and I missed the boot camp training!), I joined CP and loved reconnecting with old friends and making new ones!
What Did You Do Exercise-Wise Before CP? I used to strength train at different gyms. When I was first married, I had a trainer and mostly strength trained. I took some kickboxing classes, which I really enjoyed.
What Is Your FAVORITE Exercise/Body Part to Work On? I like running and anything that pushes me. I like workouts that mix cardio and strength.
What Is Your HATED Exercise/Body Part to Work On? I probably like up/up/down/downs the least, and I don’t love ab work. And, I know it’s not something we do here, but I tried a Zumba class and a Hip Hop class a few years ago . . . those are SO not my style of exercise! I was so uncoordinated! I’m sure I had to look really funny!
What Type of Music Gets Your Heart Rate Up? I like a huge variety of music, so you’ll find a wide range of songs on my playlist. I have a lot of Pink songs on my running playlist.
Do You Exercise On Your Non-CorePhysique Days? I do exercise on my non CP days. I run several days a week, and I do strength training workouts and yoga at home.
What Is Your Favorite Cheat Food(s)? Chocolate!!
If You Had A “Me” Day (exercise not necessary), What Would It Look Like? I would start my day with a run and then I would spend some time at the spa getting a massage, facial and manicure/pedicure. Then I would go home to a clean house that someone cleaned while I was running and at the spa, and then I would read and watch my favorite movies.
Who Is Your Biggest Supporter? My girls are big fans of mine at most all of the races I do, and encourage me in my working out.
What Keeps You Coming Back To CorePhysique? I love the accountability and friendships that I’ve made here with everyone I train with. And, I enjoy the extra push that the trainers give me. And, I really like that it’s always a different workout – the variety definitely keeps it interesting!
What Is The Best Thing That Has Changed About Your Life Since Committing To A Healthy Lifestyle? I like feeling stronger and being able to do things I couldn’t do before. When I came back to working out after 2 bed rest pregnancies, I didn’t like the way I felt and wanted to be stronger and healthier again. I also love that my girls are learning from me about a good balance to keeping our bodies healthy. Since they see me working out, we talk about a healthy balance of eating well and working out, and I enjoy the times when they exercise, run, walk, etc, with me.
