IAN ROBERTS
November 1, 2018

Ian is such a joy to have in class. He always comes in with a big smile on his face and is ready to work hard. Ian is always the first to encourage others in his class. Thank you Ian for giving 100% and never complaining! We love having you in the CorePhysique family!

Tell Us A Bit About Yourself
I am 25 going on 26, people say I’m naive. Well, not really but I can’t resist a musical theatre ref. I always try to be the best version of myself, I love learning new things, and work in IT. I never was a huge sports guy but I’m very passionate about many topics, including sci-fi and music. I joined CorePhysique because of my mom, she talked about how great this place was.

What Did You Do Exercise-Wise Before CP?
Mostly bodyweight exercises/calisthenics type stuff.

What Is Your FAVORITE Exercise/Body Part to Work On?
I love the metcons. An intense workout is definitely a good one.

What Is Your HATED Exercise/Body Part to Work On?
Upper body is definitely more challenging especially pushups/triceps.

What Type of Music Gets Your Heart Rate Up?
While I really like those gym remixes of songs with a higher bpm and good rhythm, my deepest and truest answer is anime theme songs. I know, it’s very nerdy, but I can’t lie in such an august publication as the Core Physique newsletter. Even though they’re in a language I don’t understand, not only is the music just good on its own, but the emotions attached to the content and themes of the corresponding show are very motivating. Some of my favorites are Sorairo Days by Shoko Nakagawa and all the openings to the various   seasons of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, in particular Sono Chi no Sadame by Hiroaki ‘Tommy’ Tominaga.

Do You Exercise On Your Non-CorePhysique Days?
Sometimes, but not regularly.

What Is Your Favorite Cheat Food(s)?
Even though I’m kind of lactose intolerant I go absolutely buck wild for a good ice cream. It’s the best. Vanilla is underrated, but there are also some other amazing flavors out there.

If You Had A “Me” Day (exercise not necessary), What Would It Look Like?
Sleep in, have a nice breakfast, for starters. Take some time to read a book or watch a movie, eat more good food, probably work on a personal project and hang out with my best friends. That’s always a winning combination.

Who Is Your Biggest Supporter?
My mom, without a question.

What Keeps You Coming Back To CorePhysique?
Having a set workout is nice, the trainers are excellent, and having other people in class with me lends some accountability to the whole affair.

What Is The Best Thing That Has Changed About Your Life Since Committing To A Healthy Lifestyle?
Exercise definitely keeps me level-headed and gets me out of the house.
