We are the ones who have benefitted by you choosing CorePhysique as your workout partner—can you believe it’s been almost two years ago that you walked through our doors!!!
Tell Us A Bit About Yourself I’m a married mom of two little munchkins – 4 & 8 (you may often see my girls tagging along to the gym.) I work in Brookhaven for an IT company as an account manager, so often I am running in 5 minutes late in the afternoons due to some accident or another traffic issue on GA400. The hubby also travels, so I’m often running out as fast as I run in, to grab the above mentioned munchkins. I’m a year shy of 40, but don’t feel even close to that. But looking forward to the next 10 years. I have a dry sense of humor and am often offering one liners (especially about burpees). I joined for a couple of reasons. 1st reason: it was .9 miles door to door from my house at the time. 2nd reason – I just had back surgery, so was pretty sure that my core needed some work and where else would I find that than a place aptly named “COREPhysique?” I came in and was instantly welcomed!
What Did You Do Exercise-Wise Before CP? I was a CrossFit Junkie for 4-5 years before I had my back injury. Before that, I’ve done random bootcamp, body pump, spin classes, etc. I was a competitive swimmer growing up – specifically long distance swimming and synchronized swimming.
What Is Your FAVORITE Exercise/Body Part to Work On? Lower body. I like to lift heavy weights – heavy back squats, deadlifts, etc…. I’m special that way.
What Is Your HATED Exercise/Body Part to Work On? BURPEES. Followed by a close second by running. And I don’t like working triceps since it’s my weakest.
What Type of Music Gets Your Heart Rate Up? 90’s Hair Bands; or early 2000’s rock
Do You Exercise On Your Non-CorePhysique Days? Sometimes? Depends on the weather and the schedule. May go downstairs and workout in the basement or go on the Greenway/Park with the kids for a long walk.
What Is Your Favorite Cheat Food(s)? WINE. (Technically not a food – but it’s my cheat)
If You Had A “Me” Day (exercise not necessary), What Would It Look Like? A day sweating it out at JeJu Korean Sauna w/ reflexology, body shampoo, maybe a massage, go to the grocery store or Target with NO KIDS; dinner with the family/best friend’s family (steak and potatoes, wine: Rose for appetizers, move to Red for dinner, cheese, the WORKS)
Who Is Your Biggest Supporter? My family is a big supporter of mine. My 4 yr old will often come show me how she now does push ups or burpees. I also convinced my best friend to join this year, so she has become a huge supporter as well.
What Keeps You Coming Back To CorePhysique? The family atmosphere. The ever changing workouts, the friendships that I have made and the accountability that has come from those friendships.
What Is The Best Thing That Has Changed About Your Life Since Committing To A Healthy Lifestyle? The scale is NOT your friend. Never has been. But results are. Look for those non scale victories – inches lost, muscle gained, lifting heavier weights, more energy, etc.
